FOUNTAIN PARK CLEANUP - 07-16-05
|
|
Twenty-six terrific volunteers removed a mountain of
trash and debris from the Pompeston Creek in Fountain Farms Park during
a cleanup held by the Pompeston Creek Watershed Association (PCWA) on
July 16. The Pompeston is now free of: 10 bicycles, 6 tires, 17 heavy
bags of cans, bottles, and other trash, 42 feet of metal pipe, 7 feet
of metal railings, 6 fence posts, 1 lawnmower, 1 ladder, 1 box spring
mattress and cover, 1 metal frame, 1 tarp,
1 traffic cone, 30 feet of rain gutters, and lots of winter clothing! (Where does all this stuff come from???) Thank you to these dedicated volunteers: Beth Bresnahan, Carolyn, Jack, and Dan Bresnahan, Debbie and Conor Bresnahan, David Bicking, Barb and Jim Aguilar, Kathy and Sam Carswell, Harry, Jimmy, Dominic, and Maryann Cicale, Pam Crepps, Jill and Sam Croft, Jacob Cope, Harold Mead, Cole and Travis Pewor, Mary Salva, Leslie Smalley, and Chris and Martha Stephenson! Thanks also to Cinnaminson Public Works for bags, gloves, and trash grabbers, and for collection of all the debris! The PCWA holds stream cleanups, stream corridor restorations, educational progams, nature walks, canoe trips, and performs water quality monitoring. |
