Twenty-six terrific volunteers removed a mountain of trash and debris from the Pompeston Creek in Fountain Farms Park during a cleanup held by the Pompeston Creek Watershed Association (PCWA) on July 16. The Pompeston is now free of: 10 bicycles, 6 tires, 17 heavy bags of cans, bottles, and other trash, 42 feet of metal pipe, 7 feet of metal railings, 6 fence posts, 1 lawnmower, 1 ladder, 1 box spring mattress and cover, 1 metal frame, 1 tarp,
1 traffic cone, 30 feet of rain gutters, and lots of winter clothing! (Where does all this stuff come from???)
